Who were the generals who forged Italy, really?

To mark the 166th anniversary of the Battle of Castelfidardo, the Museum of the Risorgimento will host the presentation of the book Storie di comando: I generali italiani del Risorgimento (Stories of Command: The Italian Generals of the Risorgimento) by author Andrea Santangelo on Friday, September 18, at 6:00 PM.

The book offers a critical re-examination of the Wars of Independence and the biographies of the men at the helm of the Italian army, providing a more complex picture of the Italian Risorgimento. Its aim is to move beyond the clichés of traditional historiography to recount the errors, insights, and decisive choices of the leaders of the Risorgimento.

When: September 18

Time: 6:00 PM

Where: Museum of the Risorgimento, Castelfidardo

Admission is free.
